Kaleiçi Old Town Festival Celebrating Heritage
In 2016, Muratpaşa Municipality launched the Kaleiçi Old Town Festival to share the timeless story of Kaleiçi with the world and unite ancient cities like it. The festival quickly gained international acclaim, featuring concerts, discussions, and experimental art installations that showcased the cultural richness of Kaleiçi. Over seven years, 110 cities from three continents participated in this celebration of heritage Customized Istanbul Tours.
Preserving Kaleiçi’s Heritage Memory Spaces and Cultural Heritage Project
Muratpaşa Municipality initiated the “Memory Spaces and Cultural Heritage – Antalya Kaleiçi Houses” project to document the history of Kaleiçi’s houses. Through archival research, photo scanning, interviews with residents, and compiling stories, the project traced the history of 11 buildings spanning years. QR codes placed at the entrances of these houses allow visitors to access documentaries detailing their history Historical Landmarks in Karaman.
Hadrian’s Gate A Symbol of Antalya’s Rich Heritage
Hadrian’s Gate, opening to the ancient capital city of Perge, stands as a prominent symbol of Antalya, alongside the Fluted Minaret. Built in 130 A.D. as a symbol of loyalty to Roman Emperor Hadrian, the monumental gate now attracts cultural tourists and serves as a leisure spot for Antalya residents. Its surroundings offer a glimpse into the city’s ancient walls and towers, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in Antalya’s rich history.
